Continue your pottery journey at Laro Ceramics. Take our Summer Wheel Throwing Course and learn advanced techniques on the wheel. The 4 sessions are done every Sunday, for the whole day. With free 6 hours of studio use per week. 

After the course, a mini gallery exhibit will be held in the studio. Invite your friends and family to celebrate your ceramic works of art. This course will be taught by Erika Austria, founder of Laro Ceramics.

Lesson Plan

  • Creating cups, bowls and vases on the potter's wheel.
  • Adding decoration such as handles and spouts.
  • Glazing and loading the kiln. A sit down lesson on glaze chemistry and glaze preparation will also be discussed.


June 16, 23, 30, July 7

  • June 16: Clay Preparation. Forming Cylinders. Shaping bowls. (10AM to 3PM)
  • June 23: Handles & spouts. Throwing big - vases and bottles. (10AM to 3PM)
  • June 30: Decoration & Glazing. More practice on the wheel. (10AM to 3PM)
  • July 7: Student Assessment. Gallery exhibit in the evening. (4PM to 9PM)

  • Welcome kit that includes basic pottery tools and your own apron.
  • 4 intensive lessons every Sunday.
  • 6 hours of FREE weekly studio use.
  • Glazing and firing of 15 pieces. 


  • Student must have prior experience on the wheel. Any beginner's course on wheel throwing is permitted.
  • Must be available on the specified dates. Strictly no rescheduling allowed.

Studio Amenities

  • A complete studio with 8 wheels, workbench tables, wedging tables and an electric kiln that can fire up to Cone 10.
  • Fully equipped with air-conditioning to keep you cool from the summer heat.
  • Located at YDG Building with plenty of parking slots.
  • Surrounded by cafes (Got Baked Cafe, NODOze cafe) and restaurants (Eat Fresh, Gorudo Ramen, Home Table Deli, Persiana, etc.) 

6 Hours of Weekly Studio Use

  • What is the purpose of studio use? These 6 hours are for practicing and applying what you learned during the Sunday lessons.
  • Free 5kg of clay for practice. Free use of the pottery wheels and work tables.
  • Studio use must be scheduled a day before. It is redeemable within the 4 week course.

About the Instructor

  • Erika Austria is the founder of Laro Ceramics. She trained at La Meridiana, Italy in 2022 with a focus on functional ware under Franco Rampi.
  • Over the years she has developed techniques on the wheel for cups, bowls and vases. Using both gas and electric kilns to fire her pieces. 
  • She has exhibited pieces in Milan, Italy (1000 Vases 2022) and Florence, Italy (On Centre Fall 2022). Condé Nast's publication World of Interiors included her pieces in their global quarterly roster "Top of the Pots" in 2023.
