Create a one-of-a-kind linen scarf using flower pounding and paint made from natural dyes.
Flower Pounding and Natural Dye Painting is a slow afternoon of creative play, where you will experiment and collaborate with nature to make art into a simple piece of fabric that becomes something uniquely yours.
Using fresh flowers and leaves, you will be creating botanical imprints directly onto your scarf through the process of flower pounding. You will also learn to make paint from natural dye, which you’ll use to add playful details to your wearable artwork.
As with all Analog Home Experiences, there will be no demonstrations to keep up with, no finished examples to copy, and no pressure to make something perfect. The invitation is simply to follow your curiosity, experiment freely, and rediscover the joy of creating with your hands.

FAQs
What should I bring?
Just yourself. We will prepare everything you need (from the scarf and art materials to the tea waiting at the table).
You can also think about your design ideas ahead of time. But no pressure, you can also just let the imagination flow when you arrive.
What’s the soy milk for?
We will use soy milk as a gentle natural binder to help the pigments hold onto the fabric more effectively. It won’t make the colors permanent, but it helps them stay on the scarf longer than they would on untreated fabric.
Will the colors last forever?
Because we’ll be working with natural pigments made from flowers and plants, the colors are meant to gently soften, fade, and shift over time with wear, washing, and sunlight. The green from the leaves can turn brown, the purples and pinks can fade.
Rather than creating a perfectly permanent print, we will be creating a piece that carries the fleeting beauty of nature. Just as flowers are meant to remind us to be present, this scarf is designed to evolve with time rather than stay unchanged forever.
Each piece will age differently, making it uniquely yours.
